Teleosis Staff

Joel Kreisberg, DC, CCH, Founder and Executive Director

Dr. Kreisberg is the founder and executive director of the Teleosis Institute. Currently adjunct faculty member at JFK University's Masters Degree in Holistic Health Education, Dr. Kreisberg completed his BA at Wesleyan University and his Doctor of Chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College. He is an Associate of the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy and the Bengal-Allen Institute in Calcutta, India. He is currently completing a Masters of Arts in Integral Ecology at Prescott College. Author of several books on Homeopathy, Dr. Kreisberg has been teaching for more than twenty years and maintains a private practice in Berkeley, CA.

Candice Chase, PhD, Editor Symbiosis

Candice Chase is the editor of Symbiosis: The Journal of Environmentally Sustainable Medicine. A freelance editor and writer, she previously worked as a grant writer for the Sierra Club in San Francisco, manager of publications at the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, and co-director of field trips at the Maine Audubon Society. Candice has a Ph.D. in East-West Psychology and has taught courses in ecopsychology and social and cultural psychology. A passionate bird watcher, she lives in San Francisco and looks for the steepest hills she can find for her exploratory walks.

Luis A. Frigo, Director of Communications & IT

Luis' information management and website development experience spans over ten years. He develops web and database applications to support marketing and sales for companies. Luis has worked for Silicon Graphics (SGI), Schwab.com and Silicon Energy and has contracted with a number of Bay Area companies, including Apple Computers. As Website manager at Silicon Energy, he developed an array of online tools including "The Energy Cost Calculator." Luis earned a degree in Physics/Electronics from the University of San Francisco and started his Masters in CS while working at USF's Physics Research Lab for six years. He enjoys the ocean, cooking sea food and camping in Yosemite with his family.

Bonita Ford, Associate Director

Bonita Ford has an MA in Holistic Health Education from John F. Kennedy University in California. Currently the Associate Director of the Teleosis Institute, Bonita has several years of experience in the fields of health and sustainability. She is the co-founder of the Sustainability Garden Project at JFK University and is presently assisting in the development of a Permaculture Design Course at the Alameda Point Collaborative, which will focus on ecological garden and landscape design in urban settings. Bonita has taught classes and workshops, locally and internationally, on the themes of personal, collective, ecological, and spiritual healing. In 2004, she presented a workshop, entitled “Embodying Healing: ‘Being’ the Healing You Want to See in the World,” at the Soul in Education conference in South Africa. Bonita spends her free time dancing exuberantly, rock-climbing passionately, and doing Earth rituals in the company of her cat.

Julie Gordon brings many skills to Teleosis, including database management, finance & QuickBooks, and organizational skills. My recycled dog is happy to help with my work tasks too.

Evin Guy, Membership and Events Coordinator

Evin is the Office Manager and Events Coordinator. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University and she studied holistic health at the School of Healing Arts in San Diego taking courses in: herbology, nutrition, massage, and anatomy & physiology. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, urban hiking around San Francisco, exploring nature, art & architecture, and spending weekends with loved ones.

Niyati Desai, Publications Editor and Course Coordinator

My internship at Teleosis involves co-developing and facilitating the ESM Discussion Course, while collecting and analyzing course evaluations its future publication. In addition, I work on bringing the latest news regarding health and the environment to the website and the journal, Symbiosis. I am a Holistic Health Counselor, with a private practice in Nutrition and lifestyle support. I am a graduate student at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I am currently working on Masters coursework in Integrative Health Studies. I also studied at the Rocky Mountain Center of Botanical Sciences, where I got my certification to practice Western Herbalism. I love to see live music, cook, travel, lay on the beach and swim in the ocean, scuba dive, eat exotic, ethnic foods, look, smell, and touch plants and partake in a wonderful relationship with the natural world!

Elli Smith, Intern - Photo Specialist
