Robert Litman

Robert Litman is a theoretical biologist, creator of The Breathable Body Intensive, and Director of Asthma Free Arizona. He is an Authorized International Continuum Movement Teacher, leading workshops in North and Central America, Europe and Australia. Robert co-develops movement workshops with Emilie Conrad the creator of Continuum. Together they are committed to the evolution of the human organism and expanding its biological destination. He also develops experiential approaches to learning anatomy using Continuum breaths, sounds and movement uncovering the deeper realms of somatic intelligence. He recently became ESM Network regional coordinator for Tuscon, Arizona.

The breath is a renewable resource that enhances the sustainability of the biological organism. I love that when we re-learn how to breathe correctly, we treat the cause of most breathing related illnesses and reduce the symptoms. The fact that I can do it in a "green" environment sets the atmosphere for valuing breathing clean air. This is my primary aim, to create a critical mass of healthy breathers who will no longer tolerate the polluting of this vital nutritional resource and demand change. Using the breath as the "medicine" to alleviate the symptoms caused by breathing irregularities is an Ecologically Sustainable Medicine.

My mission in "The Breathable Body" is to combine the anatomy and physiology of ventilation and respiration, with the Buteyko philosophy and exercises and the movement explorations of Continuum. By being aware of our physical/mental/emotional/spiritual responses to the movement of breath, we can facilitate our own wellness. Our whole being is in relationship to the process of breathing.
