The following is a list of take-back programs and/or resources available in your area. If your region is unlisted, please consult your local Household Hazardous Waste Center or Water Treatment Agency for more information. We encourage everyone to support safe disposal in their community. Ask your pharmacist or doctor to look into take-back options, and support legislation related to pharmaceutical waste management.

International Models for Product Stewardship
A number of international programs serve as progressive models for drug take-back solutions, involving support from government and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Australia:
The Australian government funds the Returned Unused Medications (RUM) system.
Canada:
Pharmaceutical companies voluntarily started and continue to fund the British Columbia Medications Return Program.
Europe:
11 European countries participate in pharmaceutical take back programs, serving 90% of European citizens.
