Green Medicine Series: Green Pediatrics
Join Lawrence D. Rosen, MD of The Whole Child Center in a discussion of why and how we should address current child health epidemics of allergies, asthma, autism, obesity and cancer - with a focus on keeping the "whole child" healthy and well. He will also describe how health care practitioners and institutions can serve as leaders in children's environmental health and ecologically-sustainable healthcare.
Objectives:
- To describe the current state of children's health and the impact of the environment on their well-being
- Identification of key principles in integrative pediatrics that help promote ecologically-sustainable health
- Discuss how pediatric practices and institutions can partner with families to optimize children's health from an environmental perspective
Bio:
Lawrence D. Rosen, MD is a board-certified general pediatrician committed to family-centered, holistic child health care. He practices primary care in northern New Jersey at The Whole Child Center and consults at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center, serving as Chief of Pediatric Integrative Medicine and as medical advisor to the Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology. Dr. Rosen is a nationally recognized expert in Pediatric Integrative Medicine, acting as Chair of the Integrative Pediatrics Council, a non-profit group dedicated to transforming children's health care. He is also a founding member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Provisional Section on Complementary, Holistic and Integrative Medicine.
